AB Occupational Therapy for children is a bespoke children’s occupational therapy (OT) service offering assessment, treatment and advice for children at home, in nursery / school or in their social settings. We can work with children from birth to 18, as well as offering input around the transition to adult environments and services.
AB Occupational Therapy is able to provide a range of assessments and interventions, ranging from a one off assessment and provision of a report and advice to ongoing treatment and intervention both at home and school working towards child centred goals.
We have expertise in working with children with neurological conditions, such as cerebral palsy or traumatic brain injury; developmental and neurodevelopmental conditions such as global developmental delay and autism; challenging behaviour; and postural difficulties. We also have a great deal of knowledge in relation to equipment and adaptations in the home and school environments to provide an accessible environment as well as ensuring the health and wellbeing of anyone involved in the care of the child.
We are able to offer a variety of assessments, carrying a range of standardised assessments that allow the needs of the child to be accurately assessed, alongside the expert skills of our therapists.
AB Occupational Therapy also provides specialised Sensory Integration assessments, using the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests, where appropriate.
In addition, AB Occupational Therapy is able to provide expert witness assessments and reports: for children who have suffered an illness or injury resulting in a civil litigation; or for educational tribunals, where there is a difference of opinion between parents and their LEA about the most suitable educational placement for the child.
